I was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, and for most of my life, I’ve had the privilege of working with children in settings like rec centers and YMCAs. In 2010, I became a certified nursing assistant, quickly realizing our powerful impact on everyone we encounter in healthcare.
Since 2020, I’ve been working as a Registered Nurse. In 2022, I moved to Southern California, where I currently work at a stand-alone children's hospital. In recent years, I’ve been focused on finding ways to help children feel less afraid when they visit the doctor or hospital. I wanted to create a platform that makes health topics easy to understand—and even fun—so kids can feel more comfortable and confident in healthcare settings.
To bring this vision to life, I teamed up with passionate healthcare providers, including child life specialists. Together, we created Nurse Deon, a kids' show with the mission of helping as many children as possible learn about their health and feel less fearful about medical experiences.
