I have been a nurse for 10 years and have had the opportunity to explore a variety of clinical and community settings, taking full advantage of the breadth of roles that nurses can explore (especially given that per diem work is an option). I have experience in Pediatric ICU, L&D, Postpartum, Antepartum, Reproductive Endocrinology, Fertility OR, School Health, and even a little bit of Aesthetics. I finally found my love of School Nursing in 2018, which has been my focus ever since and guided my decision to pursue my DNP and FNP with the goal of working in School-Based Health Centers, Supporting School Nurses in their role, and helping educate the next generation of nurses in academic settings. My professional service activities focus on the mentorship of current nurses and students through the UCI Nursing Alumni Chapter, where I currently hold the role of President. I also manage two web-based professional support networks in LA County and with the National Association of School Nurses PIPSN group. I am looking forward to presenting my DNP project (Preparing School Nurses to Address Student Mental Health Needs Through Continuing Education) at NASN and WIN conferences this year and will be graduating fro UC Irvine this Spring with my DNP! In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my sweet pup, Itty, and going salsa dancing with my husband!
